SINGLE THREAD CHAIN STITCH

This is the simplest form of sewing and is recommended when it is unnecessary to have the stitch locked. These machines are available in two models; one for sewing thinner materials up to 1/4"
(6 mm) with short stitch length; the other for thicker or compressed materials up to 2" (50 mm) with longer  stitch lengths. Speeds vary according to the thickness and nature of the materials being sewn.

· Drive can be either constant speed or variable speed. Horsepower rating depends on load,  
  accessories and nature of the work.

Uses:

· Extra Heavy Duty is for sewing heavy padding (e.g. cotton or polyester) to scrim, insulation
  batting, air filtration pockets and other
materials that require high needle stroke because of
  material thickness.


· Heavy Duty is for sewing lighter weight materials with short stitch lengths requiring shorter
   needle strokes.
